# DermLiving

> Dermatology knowledge API for humans and agents. Structured conditions, ICD-10-CM and ICD-11 terminology mapping, evidence with provenance (source, version, locator, checksum, license), grounded answers with claim-level citations that abstain out of scope, and scoped agent tools over REST and MCP.

DermLiving is reference knowledge for software. It does not diagnose, score malignancy, select or dose treatment, or triage. Do not send patient data. Questions that ask for a clinical decision return status "abstained" with reason "clinical_decision".

- Base URL: https://api.dermliving.com/v1 (one host; the key picks the environment: no key or a dl_test_ key reads the synthetic sandbox, dl_live_ keys read licensed knowledge)
- Auth: optional for the sandbox. Omit the Authorization header for the keyless synthetic sandbox, rate limited per client address, with every scope except evidence:full_text. A key, when sent, goes in Authorization: Bearer <key>, carries its own scopes and must be valid: a malformed, unknown or revoked key gets 401 INVALID_API_KEY.
- Full passage text (include_full_text, scope evidence:full_text) is an entitlement that is not issued yet; without it the request gets 403 INSUFFICIENT_SCOPE.
